CNY Eve - Reunion Dinner
We were excited to ursher the Year of Tiger with Yuan2 -- her very 1st CNY. The celebration started with reunion dinner @ our place -- with TK's parents and siblings. We had the usual steamboat dinner and MIL cooked some dishes to share. Surprisingly, weather was great -- cool and windy. We took turns to eat -- so that one of us would watch over Yuan2. She was happily crawling all over and droolingly watched us eat :P We prepared too much food and had lotsa leftover -- argghhh, would be eating the same thing for the next few days....
As we started dinner early @ 5.30pm, we were done by 7.30pm. Gave Yuan2 a wipe down and change into new PJ. After her last feed at 8.30pm, she zzz soon after.
When the clock striked midnite, TK n me exchanged Valentine's Day gifts :)
P.S. We put an ang pow under her pillow -- 压岁钱 to ward off evil spirits

CNY 1st Day
Yuan2 woke up at 5.30am -- haha, think she wanna have an early start to the new year! She received her 1st ang pow from us -- she was fascinated with the Tiger and put it in her mouth to taste it! Haha, she "ate" one corner of it! After her cereal and bath, I tried to coax her to nap -- but she was too excited and refused to nap... Finally, we decided to go ahead with CNY visiting. We dressed her in a cute Chinese dress -- complete with rose hairclip and red shoe socks :) Our 1st stop was TK's parents' place (across the street) -- her grandparents welcomed our sweetie with open arms! Haha, she was soo tired by then and dozed off on my shoulder. After a short nap, we went home to feed her fish porridge.
2nd stop was TK's godma's place. We were the 1st to arrive and Yuan2 warmed up to the new environment before the crowd came in. She was happily crawling all over -- like an exhibit as the adults were surrounding n watching her *haha* She was a little darling and passed ard among the relatives -- phew, we managed to get a quick bite from the buffet spread :)
3rd stop was my parents' place. She charmed my dad and he managed to pad her to take a short nap before dinner.
4th stop was my elder brother's place -- reunion dinner part 2. We had steamboat dinner and Yu Sheng to round off the good year ahead. Yuan2 enjoyed playing with her cousins Hui, Ying, Dino & Jayden.
We finally reached home at 10pm -- it was a long day! After wipe down and last feed, Yuan2 KO with TK. I had to wash & sterlise milk bottles and make brown rice cereal before turning in.
CNY 2nd Day
Yuan2 woke up at 5.30am again! After her milk feed, we brought her to Chinese Garden for a cool morning walk -- pleasantly surprised by the CNY deco in the park. Haha, for once, she didn't fall asleep on the stroller before we reached Chinese Garden entrance. She was busy looking ard her -- at the green plants/trees, pretty flowers and chirping birds :) The sun was out in full force when we exit from the park -- Yuan2 zzz on the way home. Her lunch was sweet potato porridge for her -- yummy, she liked it!
After lunch, we watch the movie "Couple's Retreat" -- with Yuan2 playing with her toys and crawling ard. She was drooling when we munched on the CNY goodies -- sorry gal, u gotta wait till u r older before we feed you these junk food! Mid-way thru, she fell asleep and we enjoyed the rest of the movie in peace :)
My sis' family came over to visit in the late afternoon. The big kids, Hui n Ying, happily play with Yuan2's toy. Yuan2 managed to stay in the FP exersaucer for a record time -- coz she had fun watching jie-jies playing her toys :) And she finished 1 n 1/2 bowl of porridge -- thanks to the distraction from Hui n Ying. She fell asleep before dinner time and we managed to enjoy part of the dinner in peace. Hui n Ying had lotsa fun making sushi. We went for an evening stroll by the poolside and the girls had fun at the playground. Time to say goodbye and Yuan2 waved goodbye to everyone.
CNY 3rd Day
Yes, Yuan2 woke up at 5.30am AGAIN! Brought her to the market for breakfast after her milk feed. Most stalls were closed -- luckily TK's favourite fried carrot cake store was opened :) As it was an auspicious day to visit the temple for those bought in the Year of Cow(TK & Yuan2), we made a quick stop at the temple opposite the market. Being a no-no to praying custom, we got the temple staff to help us -- TK prayed to the Tiger God for good heath & happiness for everyone.
As I was still feeling tired, we dropped the plan to bring Yuan2 for swim @ Hwa Xia. We spent the afternoon in leisure and watched another movie "All abt Steve". I went for a swim while Yuan2 watched amusingly at me -- coz I put on swim cap n goggle :)
Arghh, the long weekend was gone juz like that! Fret not, the celebration will continue till 15th day -- more gathering for the coming 2 weekends :)

BB @ 9 month
My little princess is 9 month old last Saturday -- loving her more and more :)
Last Friday, she called out "Ma Ma" loud and clear when she stirred from her sleep and called me to put back her pacifier! That's soooo sweet! Next is to wait for her to call "Pa Pa" :)
Now is the "monkey see monkey do" stage. She will observed us closely and the next moment she can mimick our actions -- like making "pok", "burk", "clark" sound with her lips n tongue :)

Finally, Yuan2's bo geh(toothless) time is over! We spotted her 1st tiny tooth sprouting up from her lower gum on Sunday! Hmm, does that account for the fever, excessive drools, lost in appetite, cranky, fussy n sleepless nites etc? Sure hope all will be over soon! Now, we will hear the biting sounds when she chew on the toys -- we better be careful abt putting our fingers in her mouth!
BB @ Chinese herbs
We have delayed giving Yuan2 Chinese herbs for the longest time. When her cough n runny nose persisted, we decided to give it a try - bought Eu Yang Sen's Bao Ying Dan and Si Sen Fen brown rice. Suprisingly, she takes the herbs well! For her last feed, I cook Si Sen Fen brown rice and add to her milk -- the combo looks like chocolate milk *haha*
How to cook EYS Si Sen Fen Brown Rice
1. Add 80ml of warm water in a pot
2. Add 2 scoops of EYS Si Sen Fen Brown Rice in the pot and stir evenly
3. Turn on the stove to low heat and cook for 5mins or till mixture becomes pasty. Must stir constantly to prevent lumps from forming
4. Turn off the stove and stir in FM 120ml(4 scoops of FM). The mixture will look like chocolate milk -- total abt 200ml.
5. Pour the mixture into the bottle and let cool.
6. Shake well before feeding baby.

BB with grandparents
Yuan2 is seeing her paternal grandparents(TK's parents) more often now. They will buy clothes, shoes, socks, toys for Yuan2 and come over our place to visit. We will bring Yuan2 to their place over the weekend. Almost every nite, Yuan2 will "yak" on the phone with grandma -- she will hold on to the phone, press the keys, shake the phone, and ee-ee-ah-ah (much to the delight of grandma).
As for my parents, we visit them once every 2 weeks. She gets to play with cousins Hui, Ying and Jayden, too. Usually, it is very lively and noisy with the kids ard and Yuan2 likes it :)
There was one Sunday, we left Yuan2 with her maternal grandma (my mother) for a few hours while we did CNY shopping in town. She was happily playing with the toys -- ocassionally, she will look for us but grandma will pacify her. However, for the next 1 week, she became clingy and wanna me to carry her. Hmm, maybe subconsciouly, she thot we abandon her! We gotta keep assuring her that we will come back for her and we love her loads!
BB Milestones
Since Yuan2 started crawling and standing, she is enjoying touching and feeling things ard her :) Her favourite is to stand and cruise along the sofa -- pull down the seat cushions or watever she can reached on the sofa. Next is to proceed to the coffee table -- to grab the remote controller, telephone, tissue box etc. She also likes to crawl to the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room -- stand and look at the grass patch, passing vehicles on the road & MRT train.

She likes to join the older infants @ the play area -- from there she learns how to go through obstacles like crawling over and under (lowering head). At home, she will crawl under the bed, table n chair. Yesterday, TK placed a ball under the jitter buggy -- wow, she managed to lower he head and crawl under to get tha ball and come out thru the other side! Haha, we made her repeat her act so that we can take pic -- wow, she did it better each time!
She likes to clap and wave her hands -- especially when she listens to music or IFC caregivers are singing :) When we sing "twinkle twinkle little star", she will open n close her fingers happily.
